Shia (also written Shi'a) or Shiites represent the second largest denomination of Islam. Shia Muslims believe that just as a prophet is appointed by God alone, only God has the prerogative to appoint the successor to his prophet. They believe God chose Ali to be Muhammad's successor, infallible, the first caliph.
If you want to convert a province to this religion using the: change_religion [<province ID>/<Target Country Tag>] [<religion>] command you have use the word shiite as the religions name in the afor mentioned command. For example: change_religon 390 shiite. This will change the religion in province 390 to Shia.

Shia is in the Muslim religion group, Sunni and Khawarij are considered heretics. Every other religion will be considered heathens.
Muslim religions have a piety slider. The two ends of the slider are Pious and Lack of Piety. Each have Bonuses. Bonuses are partially received and are increased as the percentage increases. However you only receive one type of bonus at a time. So it is preferable to be at either 100% pious or 100% unpious and not anywhere in between. Piety changes at rulers death.
